Michael Mazur

Michael Mazur

Workspace Program Resident 1990

Working primarily as a printmaker and painter, Michael Mazur’s work was both figurative and abstract and his subjects ranged from landscapes to social documentation. Working in the studio in 1990, Michael Mazur’s work had a free form gestural quality to it. He created larger scale pulp paintings full of vibrant colors and affect. In Mazur’s “After Turner,” the pleasures of what has been abstracted from the landscape are romantically celebrated in a slab of paper pulp torn from a storm.
