Hand Papermaking Magazine
A biannual journal filled with information and inspiration on the art and craft of hand papermaking. Each issue features paper samples as well as articles on a variety of topics including: contemporary artistic approaches, craft techniques, historical research, international development, and educational initiatives. In addition to the magazine, Hand Papermaking also publishes limited edition portfolios. Their website features web-only content of interest to papermakers, conservators, artists, and educators.
North American Hand Papermakers
Formerly known as The Friends of Dard Hunter, this is a largely US-based organization comprised of members interested in all facets of hand papermaking. NAHP hosts and annual conference and members exhibition and publishes the Bull & Branch newsletter.
IAPMA — The International Association of Hand Papermakers and Paper Artists
Founded in 1986, this is the main international organization for paper artists with members in 44 countries. Produces an annual bulletin and biennial conference held in a different location each time. IAPMA members produce many local exhibitions devoted to paper artwork, as well as international traveling exhibitions.
Robert C. Williams Paper Museum at Georgia Tech
An internationally renowned resource on the history of paper and paper technology. In addition to more than 2,000 books, the Museum features a remarkable collection of over 10,000 watermarks, papers, tools, machines and manuscripts.

Hand Papermaking Magazine has a series of free articles for beginners and intermediate papermakers looking to learn more.
The Arnold Grummer company sells papermaking kits and has free how-to videos for beginners on their website.
Our friend and former DD staff member Helen Hiebert has many excellent how to books, DVDs, and teaches online classes.
Magnolia Paper provides a wide variety of papermaking resources and downloads related to Revival Renaissance and traditional Japanese paper.
Artist and papermaker Catharine Nash also has free how to information on her website and you can order her helpful instructional videos.
Paper Slurry is an incredible online blog and resource for online classes, tutorials, and map of the papermaking community.
University of Iowa Center for the Book has produced an excellent series of more in-depth instructional videos for purchase. Also check out their video of Chancery papermaking, which replicates historical practices, available for free on YouTube.
