Workspace Program Resident 1999
Laminating abaca paper on Slinkys, Jennifer Kraus produced brown-spotted, white sculptures that vacillate between classifications. Maybe they are mushroom tops or pincushions, doughnuts or inner tubes? Kraus used a similar process to create a series of two-dimensional work. Using abaca paper, the artist applied rust in circular, almost organic patterns.
